Trent Coffey – Sr – Stuarts Draft Cougars
Stuarts Draft HS (2023) 3B/RHP Trent Coffey is off to an unbelievable start to the 2023 high school season and is an easy choice for the Week 1 Valley Baseball Scout Player of the Week. In the Cougar’s season opener at Charlottesville, Coffey went 5-for-5 with 2 doubles, a triple, 3 runs, and 3 RBIs. In the Cougar’s second game of the season against Central, Coffey got his first start of the season on the mound and tossed a 5-inning no-hitter, walking 3, and striking out 11. In the third game on the season, the second game of a doubleheader versus Central, Coffey blasted a pair of home runs in the first inning. In his first at-bat he hit a 3-run HR and later in the inning he hit a grand slam. In his final at-bat he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and finished the game 2-for-2 with 2 HR and 8 RBIs. Coffey, who has a fair amount of offers but is still uncommitted, has some impressive stat lines to start the season.
